A Cloud Case Study – Cloud Services from ABL Networks
One of our most recent success stories was the migration to the Cloud of a local Wilmslow Accountancy firm using ABL Networks cloud services,
ABL Networks were contacted by referral to advise on the process, the benefits, pitfalls and ultimately for a quote for our cloud services.
Initially an IT savvy worker had identified Amazon AWS offering such services to migrate to the cloud. There was however, some internal concern over the fact that data would not be stored within the UK. Upon our involvement, it was explained that Amazon have data centres within the EU, so data protection standards would still be maintained.
The client wasn’t convinced by this, and did not feel “comfortable”. We then explained that we have our own Cloud Infrastructure for ABL Networks cloud services hosted right here in the North West. The project was given the green light.
Existing infrastructure included a Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) which was used for Exchange based email, File and print and user profiles.
A windows based server was provisioned to handle file and print, and data storage.
Everything is securely backed up with 15 minute snapshot intervals.
The client has since saved money on energy bills from reduced heat output and electricity consumption. Additionally now benefits from allowing staff to work remotely where needed due to the flexibility the cloud offers them.
In short, the cloud services provided by ABL Networks now gives the client the following:
- Fixed monthly billing – no surprises like with per hourly or variable billing charges
- Dedicated IT Manager services provided by ABL Networks
- Scalable, always on Cloud based services
- Flexible working, staff can now work from home (great for snow days!)
- Reliability and the expertise ABL Networks brings
